ALL ABOUT US:

The Saginaw Genealogical Society (SGS) was founded in 1971 through the efforts of
Dr. Richard Mudd  and other dedicated people from Saginaw county and the surrounding area. Whenever possible we work in conjunction with the local History and Genealogical Department at the Saginaw Public Library, (Hoyt branch) , holder of the third largest genealogical collection in the state of Michigan. A
nd through the Saginaw FamilySearch Center at 1415 Center Rd, Saginaw, MI 48638 SGS where we meet. SGS was then incorporated in 1973 and is affiliated with the Michigan Genealogical Council in Lansing Michigan. The SGS is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt society. All donations are welcome and are tax deductible under IRS code.

WHEN WE MEET:
We meet for General meetings in the months from
  from September thru to June.
General Meetings for the public are held on the second Tuesdays of the months we meet.
We do not meet in the summer, NOT in July and August, as we are out at cemeteries.
Meetings are held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Also the home of the
Saginaw FamilySearch Center, ​and most meetings are located at:
 
1415 N. Center Road, Saginaw, Michigan, unless otherwise specified.
Sign in for ZOOM opens at 6:00 pm est.  
A brief business meeting begins at 6:30 pm est.
The featured program/Speaker begins shortly thereafter or at least by 7 pm.
 
Light refreshments usually follow our in-person meetings. 
Guests are always welcome. 


ZOOM MEETINGS:

WE NOW ALSO MEET ONLINE THROUGH ZOOM.
And we will continue to do so in order to better serve our patrons.
Zoom invites are sent out on the day before the meetings. (Monday)

MEMBERSHIP:

Board meetings  are held on the first Tuesday of the months Sept - June.
GENERAL MEETINGS held at the same location at 6:30 pm. 
There are no board or general meetings held the months of July or August. 

Membership fees are due in the 4th Quarter of the Fiscal year (MAR/APR/MAY)
Or prior to the May General Meeting.

We have a page set up to pay through SQUARE ON OUR WEBSITE. 
AS A NEW MEMBER, i
f you start your membership after the June fiscal year begins,
your first year will be prorated by quarters. 
Thereafter you will renew your membership each 4th quarter
March to May.

TO GET IT MAILED YOU MUST SEND IN AN EXTRA $8 TO COVER POSTAGE PER YEAR.
