ABOUT US...WHO WE ARE

The Saginaw Genealogical Society (SGS) was founded in 1971 through the efforts of Dr. Richard Mudd and other dedicated people from Saginaw county and the surrounding area. Whenever possible we work in conjunction with the local History and Genealogical Department at the Saginaw Public Library, Hoyt branch, holder of the third largest genealogical collection in the state of Michigan.  SGS was then incorporated in 1973 and is affiliated with the Michigan Genealogical Council in Lansing Michigan. The SGS is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt society. All donations are welcome and are tax deductible under IRS code.

WHEN WE MEET

General Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the months from January thru June, and September to November. Meetings are held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the home of the Saginaw Family History Center, and is located at 1415 N. Center Road, Saginaw, Michigan, unless otherwise specified.  A brief business meeting begins at 6:30 pm and the evenings' featured program begins at 7 pm.  Guests are always welcome.  Light refreshments usually follow our in person meetings.
