The new logo (as seen above) for the SGS was created by Debra Sheets in 2018, a former Art Teacher in Hemlock, Michigan and current artist. She joined the society in 2015 and soon became the Vice President. In 2020 she became the new President of the SGS and renewed that position in 2021-2022. She is also the current Web Administrator and has been since 2017, when she created the new webpage. She is now the Treasurer since 2022. She lives in Saginaw County and is still a member of this Society.

CREATION OF THE SGS

The Saginaw Genealogical Society (SGS) was founded in 1971 through the efforts of
Dr. Richard Mudd and other dedicated people from Saginaw county and the surrounding area. Whenever possible we work in conjunction with the local History and Genealogical Department at the Saginaw Public Library, (Hoyt branch), holder of the third largest genealogical collection in the state of Michigan. Which is also the place that the SGS called home for many years.
